Mexico U23 coach Luis Fernando Tena says Arsenal striker Carlos Vela is back to his very best.

Vela has recaptured his best form this season on-loan at Real Sociedad.

Tena declared: "Carlos is returning to the levels he showed in 2005. Its the best he's played since back then."

On his Olympics selection, Tena added: "For his age, of course I would like to select him. I'll see what he thinks and also talk to his club."

Back in 2005, Vela was regarded among the world's best young players after starring for Mexico in the U17 World Championships.
