It has been confirmed that Mexico are considering Atletico Madrid coach Javier Aguirre for a return to the national team.

"We have not yet talked with Javier Aguirre, but it is our intention to do so in the coming weeks," said Chivas president Jorge Vergara. "We want to see him face to face and find out his intentions."

The Mexican FA's decision will be influenced by the presidents of the country's top five clubs, Chivas, Atlas, Atlante, Pumas and Chiapas, who have formed a steering committee and will interview candidates in the coming weeks.
