Mexico claim prized scalp of Italy

Mexico have produced a 2-1 win over defending World Cup champions Italy in Belgium.

El Tri struck first through Arsenal young gun Carlos Vela who continues to improve at international level before Guadalajara midfielder Alberto Medina made it 2-0 six minutes before time.

Bari centre-half Leonardo Bonucci managed a late consolation goal for the Azzurri but it was not enough as the Mexicans held out for a morale-boosting victory.
