Philippe Mexes hopes his goal in AS Roma's victory over FC Cluj reminds management what he can do.
Mexes was personally relieved to have made such a good impression on his return from suspension.
"It has been a very difficult time. I lost my head in Brescia and I would like to take the opportunity to apologise.
"This goal is a renaissance. We can repeat last season. We are the same group as before."
When asked about his contract talks, Mexes replied: "It's normal to think about other solutions when you play little, but I am very happy at Roma."
