Philippe Mexes is ready to make his debut for AC Milan this weekend against Palermo.

Mexes has so far been unable to play given that he's spent the last six months recovering from knee ligament damage.

"It will be an honour to replace Alessandro Nesta, one of the greatest defenders in the world," said the former Auxerre man.

"We've endured a difficult period, but we'll pick ourselves up. I'm at 100 per cent and I'll be there at San Siro against Palermo."
