Philippe Mexes says he's in no rush to sign a new deal with AS Roma.
Roma President Rosella Sensi has told journalists that the club was hopeful of agreeing a renewal with the 28-year-old France international.
"My relationship with the Sensi family has always been based on transparency and mutual trust," Mexes explained.
"I have always claimed that there is no hurry with regard to the contract. My agent is occupying himself with it.
"It's a while since he has heard from the club and I know that in the next few days they will meet in Rome.
"I am certain that there will be no problems. Any decision made about my future will be in total harmony with the club to which I owe a lot."
