AC Milan defender Philippe Mexes insists they'll be title challengers this new season.

Mexes is backing Mario Balotelli to fire them to glory.

"The Scudetto? We are Milan," he told Sky Sport Italia. "We'll fight for it.

"We did not have the same reinforcements as other teams last season, but we were equally as competitive.

"And we have the best striker in the League - Mario Balotelli."
