Rene Meulensteen is set to turn down a move to Fulham.

The Daily Mail says the former Manchester United coach had asked Fulham chiefs for the weekend to weigh up the offer and has since informed the club of his intention to move to the Middle East.

It is understood the offer from the Qatari FA was considerably more lucrative than Fulham's offer.

Meulensteen will become the nation's technical director on a seven figure contract.
