Rene Meulensteen won't be short of offers as he leaves Manchester United.

The Daily Mail says Meulensteen has emerged as a contender for the managerial vacancies at Wigan Athletic and Brighton after rejecting an offer to become David Moyes' assistant at Old Trafford.

The 49-year-old Dutchman, who is also believed to have options in Germany and the Middle East, has been an integral part of United's success over the past five years and his departure will be a blow for Moyes.

Meulensteen is the third member of Ferguson's backroom team to leave since the new manager was appointed.
