Fulham boss Rene Meulensteen has again insisted he did not arrive chasing Martin Jol's job.
Meulensteen reinstated he did not want to be in the manager role, but was able to cope having experienced such demands as head coach at Manchester United.
"There was absolutely not one idea in the back of my mind that this was going to happen," he insisted.
"I didn't want it to happen to be fairly honest. I still to this point think we were able to turn it around together."
He added: "I've been in this situation working with players and communicating."
