Christoph Metzelder is facing a big decision over his future at Real Madrid.
The defender was visited by Germany assistant coaches Oliver Bierhoff and Hansi Flick on the weekend and warned he must be playing regularly if he wants to be considered for Joachim Low's World Cup squad.
Metzelder has struggled to make an impact at Real this season, despite improving his standing since the arrival of coach Juande Ramos.
"He has played far too little for his club to be considered at the moment," said Low. "Once he is fit and up-to-speed, then he will be useful for the team."
