Metz striker Diafra Sakho is interesting Newcastle United.
The Journal says United are looking to add two forwards who could hit the ground running, but there is also a determination to recruit potential and they have been linked with Metz's 24-year-old Senegalese striker Diafra Sakho.
The newly-promoted French top-flight club's Academy director Denis Schaeffer said: "Every game, there are around 15 international clubs who come to the matches to see him.
"English clubs are here. I'm happy he'll stay until the end of the season. Then it will be difficult for us to keep him."
