Metalist Kharkiv signing Alejandro Gomez has revealed he turned down Inter Milan to move to Ukraine.

The former Catania winger signed for Metalist Kharkiv last week.

"I want to thank the leadership of Metalist.

"I decided to move here because this is a serious club - we have the intention of growing each year.

"I also want to play in the Champions League.

"I received proposals from Inter and Fiorentina in Italy, and also Atletico Madrid."
