Lionel Messi has moved to block Barcelona's sale of Jose Arnaiz.
The striker has attracted enquiries from major Premier League clubs this month, with Arsenal, Tottenham and Southampton all in contact. The attacker's €20m buyout clause is well within range of all three clubs.
Messi is well aware of developments and shocked that Barca are prepared to sell, says Don Balon. The Argentine now has a formal say on Barca transfer policy and has voiced his concerns over their willingness to lose Arnaiz.
But it's been explained to Messi that with Philippe Coutinho's arrival and the return to full fitness of Ousmane Dembele there is simply no room for Arnaiz. For the sake of the young striker's career, Messi has been told he should be allowed to move on.
