Lionel Messi would put Barcelona teammates Andres Iniesta and Xavi ahead of himself in the Ballon d'Or running.

Messi is the current holder and the forward backed two of his teammates.

"This year I think one of my teammates at Barcelona, Xavi or (Andres) Iniesta, will win," he said.

The three Barca players are the final nominees for the controversial gong.
