Lionel Messi has criticised a Barcelona vice president who said that the Argentine did not deserve an improvement on his current contract, reports the Daily Telegraph. Javier Faus, the vice president in charge of Barcelona's finances, said two that he did not see a reason to extend Messi's contract again after the club had already done so last year until 2018.
Messi has responded by telling the Catalan radio station RAC1 that he has not asked for another extension, saying: "Mr Faus is a person that doesn't know anything about football and wants to run Barcelona like a business, which it isn't."
He added: "Barcelona is the best team in the world and deserves to be represented by the best executives."
