Arsenal captain Per Mertesacker was impressed by RB Leipzig midfielder Emil Forsberg during the weekend's Emirates Cup.
The Sweden international has been a long-term target for Arsenal and was linked with the Gunners earlier this summer.
Mertesacker, who will take charge of Arsenal's academy next year, admits he was impressed by Forsberg's form.
He told BILD: "He's very creative and is always involved in the game.
"It's impressive how he makes the right decisions when in possession."
Mertesacker admits he's a fan of RBL and could see himself working there.
"RB is good for the whole Bundesliga, a Bundesliga city in the east of Berlin," said Mertesacker, who can imagine a return to Germany after his time in London. "Leipzig is always an option. Because we have many friends there."
