Arsenal hero Paul Merson has called on manager Arsene Wenger to bid for Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao. Merson wrote in the Daily Star: "It's about time Arsenal started competing for the sort of players that the OTHER top four clubs are after - not those no-one else wants.
"When was the last time they did that?
"Manchester City didn't go for Gervinho, Lukas Podolski or Olivier Giroud.
"But they want Falcao and so do the other top clubs, because he's one of the best strikers in the world.
"Arsenal have the money but, more importantly, they can promise him that he'll play every week."
