Divock Origi is expected to be out of action for up to six weeks according to reports.
It has been suggested that the Liverpool striker will miss the remainder of the season after sustaining ankle ligament damage on Wednesday night.
Origi was injured by a poor challenge from Everton defender Ramiro Funes Mori in Liverpool's 4-0 Merseyside derby triumph which saw the Argentine sent off early in the second half.
Reports emanating in Belgium indicate that the 21-year-old will be out for at least four weeks, and as many as six, which will force him to miss his club's final five fixtures of the Premier League season as well as the Europa League semi-final and final if the cub gets past Villarreal in the last four.
Scans on Thursday showed that the former Lille young gun had indeed suffered ligament damage but luckily he was cleared of a broken ankle.
Origi has been in fine form in recent times, having scored five goals in his past five outings for the Reds.
