Mensah keen to push on after making Watford return

Bernard Mensah is looking forward to getting more games under his belt after returning to action with Watford's U21s on Tuesday night.

The 19-year old England-born Ghanaian striker suffered a fairly serious knee injury while on loan with Conference Premier club Braintree Town in March which required surgery.

The knee was the same one that Mensah hurt at the end of 2011 and he admitted it was a tough time getting back to fitness but is now hoping to kick on for the Hornets after getting some much-needed game time.

"The feeling was more relief because I damaged my left knee two years ago and to do it again left me thinking football might not be for me. So I was relieved to be out there after six months of hard work. I'm finally back," Mensah, who has one senior Watford appearance to his name, told the Watford Observer.

"Since I was young I have had a problem with my knee but I think they have corrected it now and there hasn't been any problems so far. When I did it I thought 'not again' but after six months of hard work I'm back and I would say to anyone else in a similar situation to just keep working hard and you will get there."
