Jeremy Menez admits AC Milan must beat Lazio in the Coppa Italia this week.
Milan have found themselves in the bottom half of the table.
Menez said: "It's true that we're going through a difficult time, but there are more important things in life.
"We have to stand up and be counted, get back to work and go out and try to get a good result tomorrow, because that's what we all want.
"There are some things that are out of our control, that's just the way things are. We know when Milan aren't doing well, there are people who speak badly of the club and it's too easy to do.
"Here at Milanello, we've worked just between ourselves, and we all have to help each other. Only then can we move forward.
"The fans are very important for us. I understand [their frustration] because for them things aren't easy at the moment.
"It's up to us to get them on our side as they were earlier in the season. We can only do this by giving our all on the pitch and trying to give everything we have.
"We care about the Coppa Italia, it's very important this year. In the League we're not going through a good spell, so if we could do something in the Coppa Italia it would be nice."
