Peruvian striker Andres Mendoza is close to joining MLS club Columbus Crew after reports suggest he has passed a medical.

The 32-year old, who most recently played with Turkish Super Lig club Diyarbakirspor, has been trialling with the Crew this week and it seems as though a deal is extremely likely after getting through his medical test.

Mendoza has represented Peru close to 50 times and has played at the top level in his homeland with Sporting Cristal, in Belgium with Club Brugge, in France with Marseille and in Ukraine, Russia and Romania. He has also played with Mexican club Morelia before moving to Turkey last year.
