Spanish coach Jose Luis Mendilibar is being linked with the West Bromwich Albion job.
The Birmingham Mail says reports in Spain - which are believed to be wide of the mark - claim the 52-year-old is on the verge of being named as the new boss.
Albion have yet to comment on those claims, although he has been interviewed in previous weeks and is certainly under consideration.
The Baggies were linked with ex-Hannover 96 boss Mirko Slomka over the weekend, with his odds being slashed dramatically by several bookmakers.
Albion are keen to appoint by the end of the week - certainly before Saturday's game with Southampton.
