Memphis Depay has proved a huge merchandising success for Olympique Lyon.

The former Manchester United attacker is already a huge hit for OL fans.

OL marketing chief Martial Nardone said: "His arrival created a craze among fans. This Wednesday, we had a signing session at the Parc OL shop with Memphis, and we had 1,500 people present.

"We were not surprised because we saw the infatuation from the first weekend around the sale of shirts.

"He arrived in Lyon on Thursday, he signed officially on Friday and, on the weekend that followed, 90 to 95% of the jerseys sold were Memphis jerseys!

"He will sell as much as Alex Lacazette or a Karim Benzema, but they arrived via the training center.

"We have a specific range around Alex Lacazette, it is obvious that we will develop a range around Memphis. But I'll let the legal department deal with his entourage to put this in place."
