Earlier this week Ciro Ferrara questioned his attitude in training, saying that it made it hard for his team-mates to like him.
“I want to win with the black and white shirt. I still have four years left on my contract. I'll see them out. I'm not someone who runs away in difficult moments,” Melo said. “And, on the whole, I don't believe that I had a disastrous season.
“In the future I would like to close my career in Brazil, hopefully at Flamengo. But that's in the future.”
On reports of a clash in Brazil training with Real Madrid star Kaka, Melo added: “I have never hurt anyone in my life as a footballer. Do you really think that I would have been so stupid as to take out Ricky, the man who can help me win the World Cup?
“Nothing happened with Kaka. Nothing."
