Former Chelsea fullback Mario Melchiot believes Antonio Conte will prioritise the Champions League this season.
For last week's win at Atletico Madrid, Melchiot was impressed with their strong display and Conte's bold tactics, and he has tipped Chelsea to 'go to the next level' this term and be crowned European Champions.
“I'd definitely pick them for the Champions League," he told talkSPORT.
“It's the biggest trophy they're really going after.
"Don't get me wrong, they want to have the Premier League, but if they could pick between the two trophies, I'm sure they would pick the Champions League.
“They've already done the Premier League and you always want to get to the next level. The next level is the Champion's League.
“I'm almost 100 per cent convinced Conte wants that trophy.
“The performance against Atletico was surprising to me. Conte, with his history of playing in Italy, you think he'd be playing a bit more conservatively, especially away from home.
“But then going all the way until the end, you could see his passion when they missed a few opportunities, he was slapping the floor because he really wanted to get those three points away from home.
“That's why I was really impressed."
