Melbourne Victory will miss out on another marquee target following reports that Fabrizio Miccoli is set to join Lecce.
The 34-year old Italian striker had emerged as a target for the Victory but will not be making his way down under after a statement on Lecce's official website reported that he would be joining from Palermo.
"(He) has chosen, among several options, to wear the yellow jersey, for whom he had always shown great affection and love. The contract will be formalized on Wednesday," read the statement.
The former Juventus, Fiorentina and Benfica attacker was the second big-name player out of Europe to be linked with the Victory after Greek veteran Giorgos Karagounis who recently re-signed with Fulham.
