Melbourne Victory's Muscat hit with fine and reprimand

Melbourne Victory captain Kevin Muscat has been hit with a $1,500 suspended fine and a reprimand following his actions on Friday night.

The veteran defender was involved in a tussle after his side's 3-3 draw with Brisbane Roar at AAMI Park in which he appeared to push Roar goalkeeping coach Fernando Vaz Alves.

The incident was reviewed by Football Federation Australia who determined that a breach of the National Code of Conduct (Code) had taken place. Specifically, the actions of Muscat were found to have brought the game into disrepute.

The suspended fine will be triggered in the event of a further breach of the Code in the remainder of the current Hyundai A-League season, including any finals series matches.

Muscat will be available for this weekend's second Melbourne derby with the Heart at AAMI Park.
