Melbourne Victory midfielder Carlos Hernandez has been called up for international duty next week.

Costa Rica takes on Honduras in San Jose next Wednesday which is bad news for the Victory as it is smack bang right in the middle of their two major semi-final legs with Adelaide United.

Hernandez is likely to land in Melbourne just 24 hours before the second leg at the Telstra Dome on Saturday 14 February which will make it difficult for coach Ernie Merrick to select him.
