Melbourne Victory coach Ernie Merrick is in no hurry to fill the final position on his playing list. Merrick does not want to make a signing for the sake of it, if at all.

"We have now a visa spot and we have some money should we want to add to the team and I have talked about the centre-back (position)," Merrick said.

"But with Matthew Kemp, Steven Pace and now Matthew Foschini doing so well I am even questioning whether we need a centre-back, so we are going to hold off on the final signing if there is one."
