Melbourne Victory consider Viduka after Thompson injury

Reports suggest that Melbourne Victory are considering making a move for former Australia international Mark Viduka following the news of Archie Thompson’s serious knee injury.

The ex-Celtic, Leeds United, Middlesbrough and Newcastle United striker has been linked with a return to the A-League ever since he ended his career in Europe at the end of last season with the Victory and incoming club Melbourne Heart both interested.

And after the knee injury sustained by Thompson in Saturday’s Grand Final loss to Sydney FC, rumours have strengthened that the club could make a play for 34-year old Viduka.

Viduka has not played for close to 12 months but is believed to be entertaining the thought of returning to the game in his hometown.

Have watched Leeds for 43 years and he is in my all time first XI.
Awesome skills for a big man. I treasure the memories and was lucky enough to meet up with him a couple of times.
Good luck hope you get to see him
