Melbourne Victory coach Ernie Merrick admits he will wait until Saturday night to make a decision on whether he will start Archie Thompson or not. The Victory take on Perth Glory at nib Stadium on Sunday and are in need of a striker following injuries to Ricardinho and Robbie Kruse but Merrick says Thompson, who made his first appearance in eight months last weekend, is not a definite starter.
"We'll make a decision pretty well the day before the match," Merrick said.
"Archie says he has come up (from the Gold Coast game) feeling really well and he's trained hard all week.
"But obviously it's a frenetic pace from kick-off, and whether it's a better option to go when the pace of the game is off in the second half is the thing we'll discuss."
The Victory take on a Perth Glory side determined to snap a ten-match winless run, which includes nine defeats, on Sunday - kick-off is 5:00pm local time (7:00pm AEDT).
