Robbie Kruse is set to return to the Melbourne Victory line-up in what is a major boost for the goal shy club.
The 22-year old striker suffered a thigh injury in the November 6 loss to Gold Coast United and was expected to be out for up to three weeks but it looks likely he will be back in action tomorrow night against Central Coast Mariners at AAMI Park.
The news is good for the Victory who can now play Kruse up front with Archie Thompson for the first time this season as they strive to bounce back from Sunday's disappointing 3-1 loss to Perth Glory.
"It'll be the first time we've got Robbie up front with Archie. If we get through our training session today, both Robbie and Archie will definitely start," Victory coach Ernie Merrick said yesterday.
"It's all about scoring goals in football and unless you keep the opposition honest by threatening to score a goal in Perth or scoring, they'll keep coming at you and that's what happened to us in Perth."
