The Australian national team has released Mark Milligan from the squad because of a knee injury.
< The Melbourne Victory midfielder has been battling the problem all week and has been deemed unfit to take on France in Paris on Friday (Saturday morning AEDT) or Canada in London next week.
A Football Federation Australia statement read: "Socceroos Head Coach Holger Osieck, in consultation with the Socceroos medical staff, then determined that Milligan should return to Australia on the next available flight to allow him to continue his injury rehabilitation back in Australia.
"No additional players will be added to the Socceroos squad at this time."
