Melbourne tour excites Atletico Madrid aces Griezmann, Koke

Atletico Madrid will join Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur in Australia for the 2016 International Champions Cup.

The Spanish club have been added to the fixture list for the down under leg of the tournament which also features A-League champions Melbourne Victory and their impending trip to Melbourne has stars Antoine Griezmann and Koke excited.

With Atleti due to meet Spurs in the third and final match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on July 29, Griezmann was looking forward to going toe-to-toe with the current Premier League title pursuers.

"It's amazing to have the chance to play at the Melbourne Cricket Ground as part of our preparation for next season," French attacker Griezmann said.

"Hopefully we'll have a packed out stadium cheering us on against Tottenham."

Midfielder Koke echoed his colleague's sentiments: "I'm really looking forward to coming down to Melbourne.

"It will be a very important part of our pre-season and we look forward to seeing up close the passion with which Australian fans live football. It will be a great experience."
