Melbourne's Muscat at ease over new faces in Victory goals

Melbourne Victory skipper Kevin Muscat is totally at ease regarding the fact there will be one or two new faces in goals this season. The reigning A-League champions have had to say goodbye to regular number one shot-stopper Michael Theoklitos who will pursue a career overseas but have welcomed former Wellington Phoenix custodian Glen Moss.

Add 20-year old Mitchell Langerak and Muscat believes the club has the men to fill Theoklitos' void and that the defensive structure will not be altered.

"The approach won't change, it just comes down to either one of them two fitting into the team. Both of them are going to have the opportunity to do that," Muscat said.

"The competition for that spot is certainly going to heat up because they are two very good goalkeepers. It's going to be very interesting."

Muscat was unsure of who coach Ernie Merrick would decide to use once the season came closer but knows both players are well up to the challenge.

"By all accounts, he's (Moss) done very well (at the Confederations Cup for New Zealand) and the three or four weeks he was training with us before going to South Africa, he looked very good as well. It's certainly going to be very tough for either of those two get the nod," he added.

"Mitch is the younger of the two, Mossy is a little bit more experienced and been there and done it. Mitch was brought to this football club with a lot of expectations. He's got that opportunity to step up, but at the same time, Mossy is going to make it very hard for him."
