Melbourne Victory and Adelaide United players regard the signing of Harry Kewell as the greatest transfer in any sport in Australian history.
The former Liverpool, Leeds United and Galatasaray star is due to make his friendly debut at Adelaide United tomorrow night, where over 10,000 local fans are expected to attend.
"He's the biggest signing not just in Australian soccer but probably Australian sport in general - everyone knows who Harry Kewell is," Adelaide goalkeeper Eugene Galekovic said.
"He's a professional in everything he does on and off the field. On it he'll create problems, he knows how to score goals and we have to be aware of that.
"The game is getting a nice build-up in Adelaide, people are well aware of his arrival and a good crowd is expected."
Melbourne coach Mehmet Durakovic, the Selangor legend, told the Herald-Sun: "He will get some game time up in Adelaide. He's not match fit but he's fit and we'll give him a run.
"We'll wait and see how he goes at training (today) before deciding whether we'll start him or use him off the bench.
