Melbourne Heart targeting South American players

New A-League club Melbourne Heart are eyeing players from South America as their next few signings.

The 11th A-League franchise have turned their attentions to players in Argentina and Brazil according to football operations manager John Didulica.

''We are still looking at building up our squad and we are looking at players from there. There are some good defenders in countries like Argentina, and good strikers, too. It's a matter of fitting the right pieces in the jigsaw,'' he said.

Head coach John van 't Schip has just returned from a trip to Europe and South America and it is believed that the club is looking at a South American centre-half and a couple of attacking options as well.
