Melbourne Heart to take part in Hawaiian Islands Invitational

Melbourne Heart FC confirms it is poised to participate in the inaugural Hawaiian Islands Invitational from February 23-25 next year.

The Red and White's will take on a stellar field featuring MLS side Colorado Rapids, the K-League's Incheon United and J-League outfit Yokohama FC in the four-team tournament, which will take place at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu.

The tournament is set to provide an incredible opportunity for the emerging members of the Heart side who, headed by Youth Coach John Aloisi, will represent the Club in front of a global audience.

Chief Executive Officer Scott Munn said the Hawaiian Islands Invitational promises to be an exciting chance for the Club's rising players to experience football at an elite level.

"Melbourne Heart FC is obviously delighted to take part in the inaugural staging of the Hawaiian Islands Invitational," he said.

"We feel the tournament will provide a wonderful chance for the Club to test itself against representatives of the MLS, K-League and J-League, and are confident it will prove an important step in the development of our squad.

"The Club prides itself on its commitment to developing youth and providing a pathway for emerging players. Our participation in the Hawaiian Islands Invitational only reinforces this notion and is a tremendous statement of intent."
