Melbourne Heart have added Brazilian striker Maycon Carvalho Inez to their squad for the upcoming season.

The 24 year-old moves to Australia from Nova Iguacu in the Rio de Janeiro State Championship.

Maycon has penned a 12-month deal and becomes the club's fifth signing of the off-season following fellow Brazilian Fred, David Williams, Mate Dugandzic and Curtis Good.

Melbourne coach John vant Schip said: "We're excited to have Maycon with us and he brings some great technical and striking qualities to the squad."
