Melbourne Heart's van 't Schip excited about Aloisi acquisition

Melbourne Heart head coach John van 't Schip is excited about having veteran striker John Aloisi on his books. The 34-year old today signed a contract to join the new A-League club, delighting van 't Schip who was quick to praise his new man.

"There are not many footballers who have played in all three big European leagues. It's amazing to think that John completed his first season in Italy (with Cremonese) while I finished the final one of my career (at Genoa)," van 't Schip said.

"In my discussions with John he has a great tactical understanding of football and has great opportunity to become a successful coach."

The Heart is Aloisi's 11th professional club since he commenced his career back in 1991 with Adelaide City.

Since then he has played for Standard Liege and Royal Antwerp in Belgium, Cremonese in Italy, Portsmouth and Coventry City in England, Osasuna and Alaves in Spain along with Central Coast Mariners and Sydney FC in the A-League.
