Melbourne Heart new boy Hoffman targets every game

Melbourne Heart recruit Jason Hoffman has set a goal of playing every game at his new club this season.

The 21-year old signed a two-year deal with the new A-League club from the Newcastle Jets in January and is looking to make an immediate impression with the Heart.

"The main goal I've written down is to play every game this season, to make sure I'm a regular," Hoffman said.

"I've been very happy with training so far. I think I've left a good impression."

Hoffman began last season in a blaze of glory, scoring twice on opening day but failed to trouble the scorer since but fell out of favour and struggled for game time, which is something he believes will help him at his new home.

"Things are tough and you've got to stay in a good positive frame of mind and be ready to take an opportunity when it comes," he added. "Obviously it was frustrating not playing as much as I would have liked, but I think it made me a lot mentally tougher when I wasn't playing."
