Melbourne coach van 't Schip takes Heart from Brisbane Roar loss

Melbourne Heart coach John van 't Schip ook some positives out of yesterday's 2-1 loss to Brisbane Roar at AAMI Park.

The Heart led when Gerald Sibon struck in the 11th minute and they maintained that lead until just after the hour-mark when Kosta Barbarouses leveled for the Roar before Jean Carlos Solorzano tapped in a winner with just two minutes remaining.

van 't Schip believed his side should have taken more from the match but was staying upbeat despite the defeat.

"I think we were the better side, but that was not enough. Going into the second half with a 1-0 lead, we went forward and we couldn't push Brisbane up the pitch," he said after the match.

"We couldn't come into our game anymore and they had the better chances. Matt Thompson and Alex Terra had a few chances but (Roar) were closer.

"We are getting where we want, but the schedule over the last two weeks was very difficult and I think it had something to do with today's result."

The Heart remained fifth after the loss ahead of this Friday's home clash with second-placed Adelaide United.
