Mel: West Brom's Foster is best keeper in England

West Bromwich Albion manager Pepe Mel is of the belief that Ben Foster is the best English keeper in the Premier League.

The 30-year old is back in the England fold after a two-year self-imposed hiatus and the Baggies boss believes he should be Roy Hodgson's number one at Brazil 2014.

"For me, Ben Foster is the best goalkeeper in England," said Mel. "In particular, he is very good with crosses. He has no problem dealing with them.

"For me, he should be England's number one at the World Cup, but (Joe) Hart at City is a good goalkeeper, a good player.

"Obviously it's normal I say this about Ben because he is my player, but he is a very, very good goalkeeper."
