Raul Meireles has told former Liverpool teammate Luis Suarez not to quit for Arsenal. Meireles played with Suarez at the Reds before moving to Chelsea and then on to Turkish club Fenerbahce - Arsenal's Champions League play-off opponents on Wednesday.
He told the Mirror: "My advice to Luis would be that he shouldn't leave Liverpool for Arsenal.
"I know he wants to play in the Champions League and if it was Real Madrid or Bayern Munich who came for him then I could understand him wanting to leave.
"In reality, though, Arsenal are not going to win the Champions League or the Premier League so it makes no sense for him.
"My advice would be to have another season at Liverpool and wait for one of the top five clubs in Europe to approach him - because he is good enough for that, for sure."
