Raul Meireles says he would love to stay with Liverpool despite the fact the club has drafted in two extra midfielders so far this summer.

The Portugal international impressed with his performances for the Anfield club after a slow start in his debut Premier League season but his future has become clouded since the arrival of Jordan Henderson from Sunderland and Charlie Adam from Blackpool.

The Reds are currently in China for their pre-season tour and when asked if he would still be at the club next season, Meireles replied with a firm “Of course”.

He also said that a current ankle problem is something he will be able to overcome soon enough.

"I have a little problem with my ankle, but I've start training today. It's a little problem,” he said.
