Newcastle United midfielder Mehdi Abeid has enjoyed his first months at the club.

The talented Moroccan prospect joined the Toon in the summer.

He told the Evening Chronicle: "It's a great challenge.

"The fans are very good to me. I enjoy my time here and they have made me very welcome. It hasn't been difficult settling here.

"It has been like being in France.

"I feel really good and I want to do well in every game and every training session.

"I just want to do something good for the team."
