Megson to spark Bolton, Leicester war

Gary Megson could spark a major war between Bolton Wanderers chairman Phil Gartside and his Leicester City supremo Milan Mandaric.

The Mirror says Megson is ready to walk out on Leicester today to become the new Bolton manager.

Megson was shocked to learn that the Foxes had turned down a second approach from Wanderers, blocking his return to the Premier League.

Now wanted man Megson seems sure to leave the Championship club after just nine games in charge, leaving Gartside and Mandaric to sort out compensation.

Meanwhile, Graeme Souness dramatically pulled out of the race yesterday - because the club bizarrely brought Megson's agent into the discussions.

Souness revealed he spoke to Gartside last week but had withdrawn because he "could not believe" Mark Curtis was in on those talks.

Experienced Souey said: "I didn't realise the other guy was Mark Curtis, who I later found out was also Megson's agent. I felt uneasy about the whole thing after that and that is why I have pulled out.

"I think my interview was nothing but window dressing - and it was already a done deal."
