Megson: I couldn't turn down Bolton

Gary Megson is preparing to take charge of Bolton for the first time, claiming it was a job he could not resist.

And he is now intent in winning over a sceptical public, starting with the home game against Aston Villa.

After walking out on Leicester only six weeks into the role to join Bolton, he said: "This was purely and simply an opportunity that came up that I wanted to take.

"It was a chance to work in the Premier League, that's all.

"Bolton is a top club with a terrific stadium, a great training ground and a very talented squad.

"Joining them is no reflection on Leicester or the supporters there. I wish them every success.

"But Bolton is where I want to work. It is a massive opportunity for me."
