Megson believes Bolton fans warming to him

Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson believes the fans are now warming to him.

"I haven't worked hard to get fans on our side, results have done that," he said. "We lost 3-1 last week but the fans were certainly on our side - it was fantastic support. In terms of getting wins on the board that's the idea from day one.

"They're not stupid here, they know Arsenal at home is a game a lot of teams struggle to get anything from as they do Manchester United away. I don't think we've got as many points on the board as I would have liked and I don't think we've got as many points as we would have expected.

"But it's a long season. We finished last season with 11 points from 15 and we want to get back to that level.

"In the Premier League there are different expectations for each and every football club.

"There are groups of teams that want to be in the top four, groups that have to qualify for Europe and then groups who just want to be a Premier League club this time next year. It's different expectations for everybody."
